Coach Nick Sweetnich Bio

Coach Sweetnich brings over 20 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the game of baseball, specializing in the catching position. A former player at Garfield Heights High School, he continued his baseball career at the University of Akron, where he further developed his knowledge and understanding of the game at a competitive level.

An experienced firefighter and paramedic,for the past 14 years, Coach brings two decades of experience working with athletes. Coach Sweetnich has dedicated himself to developing strong, confident catchers. His instruction focuses on fundamentals, advanced techniques, game awareness, and leadership behind the plate. He emphasizes proper mechanics, footwork, blocking, receiving, and throwing, while also teaching catchers how to manage pitchers and control the game defensively.

Currently, he coaches an 11U team, where he continues to mentor and develop young athletes both on and off the field. Having worked extensively with his own team and individual players, he understands how to build skills progressively while creating a positive, disciplined, and competitive environment.

Coach Sweetnich is passionate about the catching position and takes pride in helping players grow in confidence, skill, and baseball IQ.
